I can’t say enough how much we love to travel. So, needless to say we have been looking forward to our Easter weekend trip to Raleigh for quite some time now. Andddd… we were even able to snag a direct flight over there. When was the last time that happened coming out of Memphis? (2 years ago actually, if you were wondering) But this was even more reason to celebrate the trip! Thanks Delta… keep it coming!
Raleigh is home to North Carolina State University, where my younger brother, Austin, is a sophomore and a member of the Wolfpack tennis team. I have been watching Austin play tennis since he was three, so to see him play in college and do so well, is quite the treat for me. For the last two years the guys have had matches scheduled throughout Easter weekend, so me, Christopher, and my folks have made the trip to spend the holiday in NC.
On Friday, we spent the day watching the Pack take on the Florida State Seminoles. It turned out to be quite a win for the Pack, as they defeated the #18 ranked FSU 5-2. Click here if you happen to be interested in reading about the Wolfpack win.
So, what did we do the rest of the weekend, you might ask? Well, here is a look at our weekend in pictures…Enjoy! We sure did!
If you are in the Raleigh area, especially with kiddos, this is a perfect stop. When there is good weather like there was for us yesterday, you could make a day out of staying here. Click here for information on Pullen.
We happened into this place, simply because Christopher thought it looked good. Plus it was packed… and thats usually a good sign. But it didn’t take long for us to become instant fans of our own… food was delicious! Honey + fried chicken = heaven. You can also choose from a variety of fresh veggies, fresh squeezed lemonade, and awesome brunch menu on the weekend. Click here for Beasley’s Chicken & Honey’s full menu.
None of us could remember the last time we were at an IMAX, so we ended our afternoon with some popcorn, coke, and some elephants and orangutans! Awesome day in Raleigh, for sure!
Now as I write this post we are back home at our apartment in MEM, resting up for the week ahead… until next time!
